This week, I had the pleasure of attending the annual Greater New York Dental Meeting at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in the heart of New York City.
This renowned event has a rich history, having evolved into one of the largest international gatherings
in the field of dentistry.
The Greater New York Dental Meeting has grown to impressive proportions, drawing dental professionals from across the globe. Its international appeal lies in the diverse range of attendees, including dentists, hygienists, technicians, and students, creating
a melting pot of knowledge and expertise.
What makes this meeting truly stand out is its colossal showroom floor, showcasing the latest innovations from both established dental brands and emerging newcomers. The sheer magnitude of the event provides a unique opportunity for professionals to explore
cutting-edge products, techniques, and technologies that are shaping the future of dentistry.
My time at the meeting was a whirlwind of education and discovery. One particularly intriguing class delved into the intersection of dentistry and cannabis, shedding light on the evolving landscape as recreational use becomes more prevalent. The captivating
content inspired me to invite the speaker, Tom Viola, to feature on an upcoming episode of my Let's Talk Smiles Podcast, set for a relaunch in January 2024.
Continuing my commitment to lifelong learning, I also immersed myself in a veneer course. Despite practicing veneers since 1999, I find it essential to stay abreast of evolving techniques and materials, ensuring my skills remain at the forefront of dental innovation.
The showroom floor was a treasure trove of dental wonders, and two brands caught my eye: Quip and Guru Nanda. Quip's rechargeable electric toothbrushes impressed me with their design and functionality. For those interested, you can explore these innovative
toothbrushes on Amazon https://amzn.to/3PQAjCH.
Additionally, Guru Nanda stood out with its oral care products, prominently featuring oil pulling. As a long-time advocate of oil pulling, I was delighted to discover Guru Nanda's coconut oil, infused with mint and essential oils, leaving my mouth feeling remarkably fresh. I encourage you to experience it for yourself .
Beyond the products and courses, the highlight of the event was reconnecting with old friends and dental colleagues while forging new connections. Looking ahead, my goal for next year is to step onto the stage as a dental speaker, further contributing to the vibrant exchange of knowledge at this extraordinary gathering. #goals
In the dynamic world of dentistry, the Greater New York Dental Meeting continues to be a beacon of innovation, education, and camaraderie, making it an annual must-attend event for professionals passionate about advancing oral health.
