My 3-Year Smile Makeover Anniversary With Porcelain Veneers! (Part 1)

Hello everybody, it’s Dr. Catrise Austin, the Queen of Smiles. This month marks a very special occasion for me—I’m celebrating the third anniversary of my porcelain veneer smile makeover. It’s incredible to reflect on this journey and share it with all of you.  Thank you all for being here and supporting me through this transformative experience.

Three years ago, in May, which also happens to be my birthday month, I finally completed my smile makeover. It was a long-awaited change that I had been dreaming about since high school. Back then, I wore braces, but I was never happy with my smile. I had a gap, teeth that flared out a bit, and a gummy smile that always bothered me. For those who are new to following me, let me show you the video of my entire transformation. It’s quite a transformation!

I vividly remember walking into my dental office three years ago, unhappy with my smile. My gums were dark, my teeth were short, and overall, I felt insecure. Despite being a dentist and helping others achieve their perfect smiles, I hesitated to fix my own with dental veneers for a long time. But I knew it was time for a change, especially after reading some harsh comments on social media about my teeth. Yes, the internet can be cruel, and even though I tried to brush it off, those comments did get to me.

So, I decided to take the plunge and get veneers. I wanted to set an example and have a smile that represented my brand—a beautiful, confident smile. I went to NYU, where my colleague needed a patient for her veneer course. I thought, why not be the patient myself? And that’s where my journey began.

The first step was a consultation with my gum specialist in Manhattan to address my gummy smile. After ensuring my gums were healthy and cavity-free, we proceeded with a laser gum lift and the veneers. It was a meticulous process, but it made my smile makeover so much easier.

Let me show you the transformation. Here’s a close-up of my teeth before the veneers—short, off-white teeth with a grayish tone that whitening products couldn’t fix. Now, with veneers, my teeth are longer, whiter, and my smile is less gummy. It’s a night and day difference!

If you’re thinking about getting a new smile, I’m here to answer all your questions. Don’t let fear, money, or lack of resources hold you back. This journey has changed my life, and it could change yours too. Cheers to new smiles!
